Andrew Hughes’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense, and appellate work.  Andrew has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of disputes, including employment discrimination, breach of contract, consumer protection, fraud, intellectual property, and RICO claims.  Prior to joining CE&O, Andrew worked at a Chicago-based litigation boutique and also served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Dana Fabe of the Alaska Supreme Court.  Andrew had previously interned with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the City of Chicago.

Andrew graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he served as Executive Editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review.  He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago in History.

Andrew’s pro bono work has included representing the ACLU as amicus curiae in a 9th Circuit en banc proceeding, representing a rape victim in Title IX and civil no-contact order proceedings, and advising “starving artists” in intellectual property matters.
