Emily Dodds Powell’s practice emphasizes commercial and civil litigation, government investigations, and appeals.  Emily has handled a wide variety of matters, including in the areas of antitrust, breach of contract, securities, patent, trade secrets, banking and secured transactions, and health care law.  

Prior to joining Calfo Eakes & Ostrovsky, Emily worked in the litigation department of Paul Hastings LLP in San Francisco, California.  Before entering private practice, she served as a law clerk to United States District Judge William B. Shubb in the Eastern District of California.  Emily had previously interned with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Sacramento, California.

Emily graduated from Harvard Law School, where she served as Notes Editor and Outreach Chair for the Harvard Law Review.  She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Economics and Philosophy.
